Natural substitute for skin care products

Everyday stress and pollution can cause a lot of damage to your skin. There are skincare products you can use to help you combat these negative effects, but they can also be very expensive, so here are a few natural alternatives—some of which you may find in your very own kitchen:

Aloe Vera. It’s probably the most popular or most common natural substitute for skincare product. The gel-like parts of the plant are known to heal the skin from minor ailments like burns, sunburns, small abrasions, and cuts, but it’s also great for dry skin and inflammatory acne. It is suitable for all skin types. It can hydrate and moisturize your skin without clogging your pores and it prevents fine lines from getting worse.

Olive Oil. If you’re looking for good vitamins for your face, you can use olive oil. It’s rich in fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K—all of which are great for your skin. You can apply it directly on your skin before blotting out extra oil or use it to exfoliate your ankles, elbows, feet, neck, and face by mixing it with some sea salt. Olive oil is also a great makeup remover, especially if you always use water-resistant makeup.

Coconut Oil. This is a very popular alternative that is very well-known, cheap and can be found at your local grocery store. Coconut oil contains antioxidants and vitamins that help your skin stay moisturized. Many people worry about feeling sticky after applying it, but coconut oil absorbs rapidly into your skin and it leaves it feeling moisturized and smooth. Coconut Oil contains fatty acids that help reduce signs of aging, keeps dry skin moisturized, and can also help with other skin problems such as stretch marks, scars, cellulite, or even diaper rash. It can also be used as a natural SPF sunscreen as it blocks 20% of ultraviolet radiation.

Egg Whites. Eggs are rich in dietary proteins that are known to build muscles but are also great for combating skin inflammation and early signs of ageing. Egg whites are rich in collagen, which fills in facial lines, especially when you use it as a face mask. Simply separate the yolk from the whites, beat the whites until you end up with a fluffy white foam and apply liberally to your face. Let it sit until it dries and rinse off everything with water. In just a few minutes, you’ll get radiant and glowing skin.

Almond Oil. This is another great alternative! Almond oil contains vitamins A, D and E that keep your skin nourished. Applying a few drops under your eyes can help reduce puffiness. Almond Oil penetrates multiple layers of your skin, so it gives you a deeper moisture than coconut oil which might be a better alternative for people with dry skin.

Cocoa Butter. If you suffer from dry elbows, knees, and feet, cocoa butter is the perfect alternative for you. Cocoa butter is a highly moisturizing butter that come from the fat in the cocoa beans. It absorbs quickly into your skin leaving it soft and smelling great. Cocoa butter helps fade scars and it is safe to use for people with highly sensitive skin.

Shea Butter. This butter is extracted from the nut of the karite nut tree, most commonly known as shea tree. Shea butter is known for promoting cell regeneration, which helps for the healing of wounds and a younger looking skin. It is a natural fat that is full of antioxidants and fatty acids, which include vitamins A, E, F, and K.

Avocado. It’s a superfood loaded with good fats, omega fatty acids, vitamins, and nutrients. Since it’s a natural moisturizer, it works wonders if you’re suffering from acne or dry, flaky skin. It also has lauric acid and anti-inflammatory properties that act as antibacterial and antiviral agents that can help reduce acne and scars.

Apple Cider Vinegar. Apple cider vinegar also has a clarifying property that can help even out your overall complexion. Just remember to dilute your apple cider with water to prevent any skin breakouts. If you have oily skin, it’s best to combine one part water with one part apple cider vinegar. For normal skin, two parts water works best. Add more water if you have sensitive skin.
